TO-DO: Strategies for Resilience in The Cultural Field
The Critical Culture Group started by organising a conference in 2023. Its starting point was that culture was in crisis, that part of culture that gives a right to criticism, that contributes to the social context and, where appropriate, intervenes - in a gentler or more radical way.
For us, the question is: what is the role of critical culture now?
We were looking for friends and with them for alternatives. Thinkers, creators, groups, organisations and examples of critical attitudes and strategies.
The aim of the symposium is to explore the problems/clusters of issues that arise, while trying to identify possible solutions or strategies to overcome the chaos. Our guests come from countries affected or affected by war, genocide, far-right ideology, nationalism, non-democratic legislation. As organisers or thinkers of Grassroots initiatives, the common ground with these cultural and academic professionals is that they are critical of the (oppressive) power structures.
